Top 3 FAQs for Trade Partners Using Pype Closeout
August 5, 2019
Pype Closeout is unique among our platforms as it involves two different stakeholders as the end-users: GCs and trade partners. And, while the trade partners don’t have to license the product themselves, it still requires everyone to be on the same page. That’s why we strive to make Pype Closeout as user-friendly as possible, and why we offer best-in-class support not only to our GC clients, but to their trades as well.
Our Customer Success Team prides itself on engaging with all project stakeholders, including trade partners, to answer questions, improve workflows, and ensure project success. Although most of the support requests we receive are project-specific, there are a few general questions from trades that I hear most often across a range of projects.
Here are the top three most commonly asked questions from trade partners about Pype Closeout:
1). What are the benefits of using Pype Closeout for a trade partner?
According to direct feedback from GCs and trade partners we work with, the best part of Closeout is that it eases communication, specifically about what documents are or aren’t needed. Pype Closeout organizes the closeout requirements by trade partner, and automatic email notifications are sent directly to the trade partners detailing what specific documents are being requested by the GC.
2). Can a trade’s PA still upload documents to Closeout even if they weren’t the original recipient of the document request email?
Yes! The project manager of the trade partner will typically forward emails regarding the submission of closeout documents to their project admins to handle. To make sure everything runs smoothly, Pype Closeout recognizes trade partners by email domain (the “@pype.io” part of an email address) instead of specific address. As long as your email domain matches the email domain of your project manager on the project, you’ll be able to see and upload documents to the project.
3). What should a trade partner do when they think a submittal they’ve been assigned by the GC is unnecessary?
Pype Closeout allows trade partners to write user notes directly in the requirement line of requests. These user notes act as a line-item specific chatbox, giving GCs and trades an easy way to communicate details about each submittal requirement. Once a user note is given, the document status will change to “Review Notes” on the GC’s Closeout dashboard, which will call the GC’s attention to what you’ve written. Based on that note, the GC can either write back explaining why the requirement is necessary, or just delete the request.
